Additionally, leaving areas of lawn slightly uncut or untouched in the garden will create additional hiding places for birds. Adding mounded soil or piles of brush or rock will provide a good place for birds to roost or hide. Planting a variety of native flowers and shrubs will provide birds with a variety of food sources and habitat.
